Century Group is a BC-based, family-owned, mixed-use real estate development company with a mission of Leading by Design to create places that increase the sum of human happiness by connecting people to transit, to growing food, and each other through a strong sense of community.For more than 60 years, Century Group has built a portfolio of operating real estate assets and land, residential rental suites, four independent seniors residences, hotels and restaurants, and over 300 commercial units in various retail centres.Role SummaryReporting to the Destination Manager, Southlands, this role is responsible for ensuring that clients are provided with support during their events to ensure that the experience upholds Southlands reputation and standards.This role is a part time temporary position working Friday - Sunday with some flexibility. This role may also be asked to work occasional weekdays, with the ability to be flexible around your schedule. As much of this role does require being available on-call to assist clients as needed, someone who is local to Tsawwassen/Ladner or is able to get to Southlands fairly quickly is preferred.Key AccountabilitiesEvent tasks:

  • Ensures the Red Barn is prepared for the next booking; all areas tidy and clean, garbage receptacles ready, any other tasks as needed
  • Coordinates and provides support for events held at the Red Barn; tour clients around the operations of the Red Barn including heating, shutter doors, kitchen, lights, and cleaning supplies; provide emergency contacts; review booking times and details; allocate Red Barn access codes to clients; outline the requirements of how the Red Barn should be left when vacating; answer any questions that clients may have
  • Act as the point of contact during the event; provide on call cell phone number and keep it on yourself for the duration of the event booking; be available for any questions that may arise during events
  • Arrange and delivers tours of the Red Barn to interested parties; includes hosting “open houses”
Administrative tasks:
  • Responds to event and booking inquiries via email
  • Prepares and maintains files and records; including the cleaning schedule spreadsheet, and the Red Barn bookings spreadsheet and calendar
  • Ensures the storage area is tidy and orderly
  • Assists Destination Manager with preparing and executing community events
  • Produces and manages content on social media channels
  • Processes and tracks payments; monitors and updates the square payment system, refunds deposits after events
  • Works closely with the Destination Manager to build a list of recommended vendors for potential clients and future events
  • Other administrative duties and project work, as assigned
Education & ExperienceHave a minimum grade 12 education plus two (2) years customer service experience. Event specific experience is an asset. Venue management an asset.Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Excellent customer service
  • Demonstrated aptitude with computers, spreadsheets, databases and applications, in particular, Google’s suite of apps (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Calendar etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to establish rapport and credibility, and effectively influence customer outcomes and resolutions.
  • Detail-oriented and excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments, work priorities and organization needs
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to deliver great results under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to work most weekends
