Job descriptionField Service TechnicianFrontier Power Products is a leading supplier of diesel engines, generator sets, industrial power units, and pump units. As the Western Canadian distributor for Kubota and John Deere power systems, Kohler Industrial Power Generation products, and Mitsubishi marine engines we service what we sell. Our company focus is to provide the best power systems solutions in the industry and has achieved this for over 35 years.Frontier Powers success has come from our core values:We will do what’s right by communicating and acting with integrity.A little bit more about the role: This is a full-time permanent position best suited to a journeyperson Mechanic or Electrician. We will also consider candidates in their 3rd year (minimum) standing as a Mechanical or Electrical apprentice.What you will be trained to do:

  • Perform planned maintenance on generators
  • Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical problems
  • Perform repairs on electrical equipment
  • Use the latest technology test equipment available to diagnose and service equipment.
  • Perform repairs on engines
  • Wire AC/DC circuits and panels
  • Read electrical schematics
  • Commission generators, automatic transfer switches
  • Field service work will combine travel both locally & out of town
  • · Follow all safety procedures and policies
What you will bring (Skills and Experience):
  • Great attitude!
  • Journeyperson electrician (with strong mechanical skills) or HD mechanic
  • Basic electrical tools and quality meters.
  • Basic mechanical hand tools.
  • Previous power generation experience in generators, controls (AC/DC), PLC’s, Switchgear paralleling equipment, and remote networks is an asset.
  • Customer centric with excellent relationship management, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with engines, generators and/or control systems.
  • Willingness to work on a flexible schedule, hours and travel when required to support our customer needs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable with computerized systems.
