Reporting to Brent Nelson, the Forklift Operator is responsible for accepting shipments, organizing the storage areas, preparing orders to ship out, and general inventory and upkeep of the shipping yard and various storage areas. The Forklift Operator has a positive and helpful attitude and is generally handy. They have experience with and enjoy driving a forklift, ensuring safety is a top priority.Health and Safety are every employee’s responsibility. All employees are required to follow Custom Cubes’ safety standards and carry out all tasks with a safety-focused attitude and behaviors.Responsibilities:

  • Operates forklift to organize the yard; collecting orders and putting away shipments.
  • Maintains general equipment and area around the yard; completes basic repairs as required.
  • Ensures that equipment is in good working condition.
  • Reports unsafe equipment or items needing repairs; follows lockout and tag-out guidelines.
  • Receives shipments; checking shipping slips and confirms deliveries.
  • Prepares and packs outgoing shipments, confirms shipping details.
  • Assists Fabricators with organizing shop materials in preparation for production.
  • Regularly learns about new materials.
  • Maintains awareness of inventory levels, and reports any probable shortages to the Accounting & Inventory Manager.
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Maintains a valid forklift operating license.
  • Physically able to lift regularly throughout the day.
  • Experience working in a warehouse or lumberyard in a similar capacity.
  • Enjoys organizing materials and gets excited about utilizing space efficiently.
  • Proven experience safely working with heavy machinery.
  • Team-oriented and positive attitude.
  • Learning and growth mindset; willing to undergo training if necessary.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
