The successful applicant, would, be responsible for importing, cleaning, transforming, validating or modeling data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision making purposes. The Junior Financial Analyst gathers information from various sources that might help them better understand the situation and then studies the information to find a solution. They must identify and interpret patterns and trends, assess data quality and eliminate irrelevant data. The Junior Financial Analyst communicates the results of their analysis as a comprehensive report to decision makers and others affected by the results. This role reports to the Manager, Financial Planning & AnalysisResponsibilities: § Understand customer and business requirements to ensure all potential costs are reflected in the pricing§ Developing reports to assist in the analysis of financial results as requested§ Prepare, analyze and record various monthly journal entries§ Develop various routine/standard reports for internal groups§ Perform some of the month-end procedures to help close the period§ Prepare ad hoc analysis per changing business focus and requirements§ Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems§ Track KPIs for various departments and update monthly files§ Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs§ Work with the Accounting team to ensure adequate controls and accurate reporting of costs§ Willing to work occasional extended hours as required§ Other duties as requiredQualifications & Key Competencies: § Proficient knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel§ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing§ Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques§ Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy§ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing§ Critical thinking, good assessment and mathematical skills§ Attention to detail & high level of accuracy§ Ability to meet urgent deadlines§ Information gathering and monitoring§ Adaptability, teamwork & collaboration§ Ability to meet urgent deadlinesExperience: § Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration or Statistics§ Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar roleHours and Location: § Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 15:30§ Terminal Location: Delta, BCRemuneration: $55,000 per yearBenefits: § A supportive work environment§ Medical benefits plan§ KPI Bonus planIntended Job Posting Audience: Anyone who can legally work in CanadaInterested and qualified applicants should apply online or forward resumes by August 26, 2022:To: Avey DilonWe thank all applicants for their interest however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Please note that Apps Cargo Terminals is an Employment Equity companyJob Type: Full-timeSalary: $55,000.00 per yearAdditional pay:
