• Operate Material Handling Equipment such as the Clamp and move material through the facility as required
• Work in a fast-paced environment building pallets with product to be shipped to fill customer orders
• Moving Appliances to correct locations by reading & scanning labels
• Ensure tasks get done on-time and accurately
• Able to work independently as well as in a team focus environment.
• Provide materials to the picking line by physically moving them from stock points along the line, off trailers, and from other storage areas.
• Actively communicate with supervisors and colleagues to effectively handle material and notify them of problems/concerns
• Stack product in designated areas. Clean up and dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping and place in proper containers or designated areas
• Demonstrate respect for the organization’s values daily, while maintaining and upholding company policies & procedures
• Other duties as required.

HEALTH & SAFETY:

• Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act including Safety, Violence and Harassment laws
• Work in a healthy and safe manner following Metro’s policies, procedures
• Always wear or use protective equipment
• Report any hazards you find in the workplace to your supervisor
• Must not use or operate equipment in a manner that would endanger yourself or others
• Must not put other workers at risk by your actions

EDUCATION:

• Some High School, preferably a High School Diploma

EXPERIENCE:

• At least 1-year warehouse experience operating material handling equipment
• 1 year or more of operator experience and certification with proven track record for safety

CORE COMPETENCIES:

• Proven communication both written and verbal
• Must be capable of sitting, standing, lifting up to 50lbs boxes comfortable with physical work
• Service orientated with strong customer service skills and commitment to quality of work
• Good mathematical skills
• Strong team player, but also able to work effectively independently
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills - able to follow instructions
