The City of Delta is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team and share in our commitment to lead the way in public service excellence.Planning Assistant 2Do you enjoy planning and development Do you want to contribute to the development and growth of the City of Delta If so, this may be an exciting opportunity for you!Planning Assistant 2 is a junior technical and administrative support position that will undertake technical research and analysis related to planning and land use regulations and policies. The incumbent will respond to and review development enquiries for compliance with zoning regulations, municipal bylaws, and any applicable land use contracts. An incumbent is also responsible for preparing and maintaining various land use and zoning maps and performing custom cartography and graphic design work tasks, and supports the planning team in the execution of public information meetings and other public engagement activities.This position requires considering knowledge of bylaws such as zoning, licencing, signs and land use contracts. A working knowledge of drafting, layout and graphic presentation methods related to municipal planning work is also necessary.Skill in the use of drafting and design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite is a must. Possession of a Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence is required. Preferred candidates will have completed university coursework (Bachelor’s Degree or above) in planning and will have some experience in municipal planning.The City of Delta provides a competitive salary of $33.56 - $39.50 per hour (commensurate with experience) and an excellent benefits package including Municipal Pension Plan as well as an earned-days-off system.
