Plant Manager – Big Mountain Foods About Us: At Big Mountain Foods, we make real, simple and good food..that is simply really good for you! Our family owned production facility is vegan and allergen free. We are currently seeking a Plant Manager to join our growing team at our Delta Facility with 20 employees.Previous work in sausage making, tofu plant or dairy plants an asset**Position Summary: The Plant Manager position is responsible for the warehouse, shipping and receiving, maintenance, purchasing and the production facility. The Plant Manager will provide strong leadership to Production and Sanitation employees to safely meet current production needs, while helping the business prepare for the future. To tackle the issues in the short and long term, our Production Manager leverages analysis of assets, processes, people, and outputs to help the business make improvements and meet customer needs. This role has a strong focus on the technical and leadership development of front-line and supervisory staff and is viewed as the subject matter expert in the development of our people.Duties and Responsibilities: · Hands on leadership in the plant working directly with employees and troubleshooting machinery.· Perform ongoing analysis on production equipment and processes· Set production goals and develop plans for the facility to drive maximized production, minimize waste, and achieve customer needs.· Drive continuous improvement for capital projects and preventive/predictive maintenance programs· Create budgets by monitoring historical expenses in the areas of: labor, repairs and maintenance, energy management, materials and supplies, and training. Set plans that ensure better yield, lower waste, and improved quality to meet customer demand· Partner with Quality Assurance to diagnose issues regarding quality. Leverage trends to tackle repeated issues, and improve product quality for customers· Provide Health & Safety expertise to proactively identify gaps in employee health and safety programs, methods, and procedures. Use findings and develop strategic approach to improve employee safety within the workplace· Ongoing monitoring of technical and leadership gaps; prioritize opportunities for improvement of capabilities in staff, and develop plan to improve front-line staff through training, process development, process improvement, and learning.· Investigate, manage and resolve employee issues· Ensure and promote compliance with all federal and provincial regulations, along with Company policy/procedure and GMPsRequirements: · Degree/diploma in Engineering/Manufacturing or Business Preferred or equivalent in experience.· 5+ years of management experience in a food operations or manufacturing environment.· Strong written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast paced, dynamic environment.· Knowledge of continuous improvement, financial and fiscal management, as well as health and safety will be seen as distinct assets.· As the Plant Manager, you will need to develop and maintain effective working relationships with leaders, employees, and all other key company stakeholders.· Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds, as needed· Must be able to bend, crawl, crouch, kneel for 1+ hours per shift, as needed· Must be able to sit, stand and walk for 6+ hours per shift· Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, express and exchange written or spoken word, and distinguish objects and equipment visually· Must be able to work all shifts and weekends, holidays, and extra hours, as needed· Must be able to handle multiple priorities with professionalism in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining safety and qualityCompensation & Working Conditions: The Plant Manager position comes with a competitive salary (will negotiate depending on candidate and level of experience)Big Mountain Foods is proud to be an inclusive employer, committed to providing a welcoming, respectful and equitable work environment.
