Job Description

Position : Procurement Specialist - Nutritional and Functional IngredientsLocation : Delta, BC - Vaudreuil, Québec - Burlington or Oakville, Ontario (hybrid/flexible work policy)Status : Full-time, permanent (1)Are you known for your initiative and attention to detail Are you described as an excellent team player capable of dealing quickly with various complex situations Do you have a good knowledge of ingredients and raw material purchasing and enjoy maintaining excellent relationships with your suppliers Seize this opportunity to contribute to the success and growth of a large local company!Quadra Chemicals is currently looking for a Procurement Specialist for our Nutritional and Functional Ingredients Group. The person will be responsible for placing replenishment orders with existing suppliers to ensure business continuity and enhanced customer experience, while minimizing inventory carrying costs and risk.We are looking for a candidate who can multi-task and is very detail oriented. This person will work closely with domestic and foreign suppliers to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve issues that may arise during the ordering and delivering process.The candidate must be able to work in an advanced digital technology work environment. We are looking for someone with strong experience in inventory analysis and control, procurement, and adept at building relationships with suppliers.Responsibilities include:

  • Closely monitor customer product demand and pro-actively adjust inventory and procurement levels as needed
  • Close communication with our sales team and our product managers
  • Placing replenishment orders with suppliers
  • Inventory control and monitoring
  • Run and analyze several system generated reports
  • Help and make informed inventory and purchasing decisions
  • Data entry in different platforms (Oracle / JD Edwards, Excel, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Cross reference quality documents on incoming material to support our quality program
  • Assist the product managers to analyze the sales and market trends
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with our worldwide suppliers
  • Manage and support a variety of projects
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
  • University degree or post-secondary education
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in procurement, replenishment, inventory control
  • Experience in a food ingredients or food manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Oral and written English
  • Advanced computer skills (strong Excel knowledge, Microsoft Office 365 suite)
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented, proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with multiple deadlines
  • Growth mindset, self-motivated and solutions-oriented attitude
