CompanyBCR Properties located at Roberts Bank in Delta B.C., manages and operates the BCR Port Subdivision railway infrastructure and property. The BCR Port Subdivision is the sole rail access point serving the largest intermodal and coal terminals in Canada.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a candidate to fill the position of Rail Traffic Controller (RTC) or Supervisor of Yard Operations (SYO) at the Roberts Bank rail terminal in Delta, BC.As a Rail Traffic Controller, you are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trains and engineering crews on the main track.As a Supervisor of Yard Operations, you are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trains and engineering crews in the Roberts Bank rail yard.The candidate must be willing to work both positions. Full training will be provided.Position Accountabilities: · Ensure open, fair and equal access for all user railways servicing Roberts Bank terminals.· Provide control functions to ensure the safe movement of trains and other on-track railway equipment.· Minimize train delays, terminal delay and customer delays through effective planning and communication.· Dispatch and manage rail traffic and track maintenance along the Roberts Bank rail corridor using Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) System software and hardware.· Coordinate Roberts Bank rail yard train arrivals and departures.· Manage user railway train crews.· Data entry into proprietary software, Microsoft Office and various information systems.· Maintain on-going situational awareness of the railway including; yard movements, equipment and signals, operating manuals, and computer applications.· Assist internal and external customers in problem solving.· Manage response for all emergency situations.Position Requirements: · A minimum of 2 years railway experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity (Rail Traffic Controller, Yardmaster, Coordinator, etc).· Qualified in Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR).· Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)· Effective planning, decision making and problem-solving skills in a team environment.· Ability to work under pressure.· On site emergency management knowledge or experience is beneficial, but is not required.· Must be willing to work shift work.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: From $96,000.00 per yearBenefits:
