Job Description

Merlin Plastics is an innovative, recycler and processor of post-consumer and post-industrial plastics. Our mission is a dedication to providing environmental recycling services that are environmentally sound, and socially responsible.About JobThe Supervisor’s role at the Merlin Plastics plant is to provide effective leadership and direction to ensure the plant operates at its maximum efficiency while maintaining the production Lines. Supervisors are responsible for the health and welfare of all employees and must provide ongoing training in all areas of employee responsibility, including the safe operation of the plant equipment.Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Operate all machines and replace other workers when needed
  • Enforce strict safety guidelines and follow company policies and standards
  • Ensure personnel are utilized properly and allocated to needed areas
  • Work with employees to improve performance
  • Motivate and deliver company vision to all personnel
  • Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
  • Solve the problems that occur within the production line, machinery, or personnel
  • Ensures production reports and paperwork are correct before submission to the plant manager
  • Understand and follows the plant start-up and shut-down procedures
  • Prepare daily production reports
  • Co-ordinate the daily cleanup of the production array
  • Check production output according to specification
  • Report equipment problems and work closely with maintenance team
Required Skills
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • Experience in using various types of manufacturing machines and tools is an asset
  • Read, write, and speak English
  • Forklift experience or certificate is an asset
  • Industrial First Aid Level 1 is an asset
