The City of Delta is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team and share in our commitment to lead the way in public service excellence.Theatre Technician 1Delta Parks, Recreation & Culture is looking for a creative and well-organized individual to work in our cultural facilities as a Theatre Technician 1.This is a semi-skilled technical position providing a variety of stage services in Delta’s Cultural facilities and venues. An incumbent provides support and communicates directly with superior staff and theatre lessees to assist stage production, scenic lighting, audio gear and set up staging requirements. The Theatre Technician 1 will communicate with supervisory staff and facility lessees to determine the best methods to deliver the required services.An incumbent will have sound knowledge of the methods, practices, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used in the operation of a Municipal performing arts complex. They will also have sound knowledge in programming and running sound control for both live and pre-recorded events.This permanent part-time opportunity requires an individual who is willing to work a variety of shifts including daytime, evenings and weekends. The incumbent will possess the ability to climb ladders and work from heights.Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by technical courses related to the work plus sound related stage experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience with equipment related to lighting, sound and stage equipment.The City of Delta provides a competitive salary of $29.13 - $34.23 per hour (commensurate with experience) and an excellent benefits package.
