Job Description

Reporting to the Liquor Manager, the Liquor Supervisor is responsible for the overall operation of the Liquor store including sales, delivering world-class customer service, receiving merchandise, stocking products, cleaning shelves, helping customers, merchandising and displaying products, making end caps displays, maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards.Qualifications: Candidates must be at least 18 years of age to work in the Liquor Store. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of related experience in a retail environment with 1 year of Supervisory or Leadership experience. Must demonstrate effective team leadership skills and work well within multi-generational teams. Applicants should be self-reliant, goal-oriented and able to set and adjust priorities and schedules. Must possess a valid Pro-Serve Certificate or be eligible to obtain within 30 days.

  • Two or more years of previous liquor retail experience
  • Complete understanding of Alberta Liquor Regulations and Legislations
  • Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, craft beer, and other Alcohol products
  • Computer skills and office administration experience; including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience with deposits, till counting, daily paperwork, scheduling, etc.
  • Familiar with ordering receiving, inventory management
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on employee engagement
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills
  • Experience motivating & coaching employees; able to identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve or correct performance
  • Demonstrated time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Cash handling skills/experience; understanding of basic mathematic principles
  • Able to operate POS system; understand credit and debit procedures
  • Physically able to lift to 50 lbs. repeatedly
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
