Why work with us:The Family Centre is currently looking for an individual interested in working with children and youth as a Cultural Coach in a school setting. We are focused on Trauma-Informed Care for both our communities and staff, and provide services based on research and evidence-based practices. We encourage employees to bring their authentic self to work in our diverse and inclusive environment. The organization is committed to Indigenous ceremony and practice and welcomes knowledge of ceremony and lived experience. Our culture is focused on providing a safe and supportive workplace, youth, including paid training, excellent benefits, a wellness program, and much more. What you will be doing:Cultural Coaches support ethnocultural children and youth, who have been identified as in need of support adjusting to life in Canada or reconnecting to their culture. In addition to newcomers, the Coaches work with second- and third- generation immigrant youth who know little about their culture of origin, or may not see the importance of being connected to their heritage. Cultural Coaches assist youth in learning more about their culture and re-establish bonds to their cultural community, thereby increasing the natural support systems surrounding the youth. What you will bring to the role:
