The role will work closely with our team of environmental professionals and will be integral in providing support for our ongoing environmental projects including environmental monitoring, assessment, remediation and reclamation projects. The position involves working in a close-knit team of dedicated professionals and you will be responsible for planning and carrying out field assessment and data collection exercises and presenting your findings in reports.   • You will assist with planning and execution of Phase I, II and III Environmental Site Assessments, detailed site assessments, spill assessments and remediation, and groundwater monitoring;
  • You will perform unsupervised field assignments as authorized by Project Managers and Team Leads;
  • You will collaborate with project technicians, scientists, contractors and other field personnel to complete on-site environmental project tasks;
  • You will be involved in collection and documentation of pertinent field data according to industry standards and WSP protocols and procedures;
  • You will be communicating with clients, service companies, laboratories, government and partners regarding project tasks;
  • You will assist with the preparation of technical reports;
  • You will ensure implementation of corporate and client safety programs on all projects.
  • Other duties as assigned or required in your role.
What you #39;ll bring to WSP ...
  • 2+ years in environmental consulting with strong field experience is considered to be an asset;
  • University degree or technical diploma in environmental science, engineering or related discipline;
  • Eligible for membership in a professional organization (APEGA, AIA, ASPB) is an asset;
  • Experience with upstream oil and gas industry remediation/reclamation is required;
  • Understanding of current provincial and federal regulatory remediation guidelines and directives;
  • Strong soil characterization and vegetation identification skills;
  • Pro-active problem solving and strong communication skills;
  • Excellent reporting and interpersonal skills;
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver #39;s license with no restrictions;
  • Physically capable of performing the required tasks, hardworking, positive attitude, and team spirit.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for field work
