We know it starts with people like you, so take a chance and start with us.Department: Organizational Development - Enterprise Learning Designamp; DevelopmentJob Number: REQ7167Location: Calgary or Edmonton (Hybrid within Alberta)Apply by: February 28, 2024Paygrade: K - OTHSystem Title: Instructional Designer 6# Positions available: 1Leader Name: Senior Manager, Enterprise LearningWork Arrangement: Hybrid: You’ll work both remote and onsite, where time onsite is based on your job accountabilities and performance objectives.As ATB’s next Instructional Designer, Enterprise Learning Designamp; Development, you will join a diverse team that is client-obsessed about helping make IT possible for Albertans.You will work closely with colleagues from across the organization to research, design, create, curate and implement full-cycle learning solutions.You will assist with conducting needs assessments and task analysis with subject matter experts using sound design principles to identify and define potential learning strategies and solutions.You will also work collaboratively with internal and external partners to design, develop and deliver learning solutions across independent, instructor-led and blended modalities that apply the concepts of adult learning and instructional design. As an instructional designer, you are a visual artist, mixing your passion for art and design with your skills in developing learning solutions that are innovative and effective.You can create in a variety of modalities and others describe your approach as innovative, creative, and powerful at building capabilities.When you create something it captures eyes, hearts and minds.You create experiences that help learners feel confident in applying new skills.You know that the best learning happens in the flow of work and look for ways to ensure it’s not one-off events but something that is built into the everyday to create sustainable new habits and outcomes.You also havea critical eye and can evaluate curated learning content and programming to assess it for suitability and effectiveness against learning and development objectives. Accountabilities
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning experiences that capture the imagination and support lasting behavioural change
  • Collaborates with project team and stakeholders to understand and help identify possible approaches to achieving the capability changes needed to support business outcomes
  • Design learning interventions that satisfy each project and fit into the learning ecosystem
  • Curate and develop content into meaningful learning experiences
  • Works with the project lead to ensure seamless professional implementation of learning and development programs and initiatives
  • Supports design, analysis and reporting on learning metrics; understands how different learning experiences can impact learning outcomes, and is able to use metrics to adjust content and program as needed
  • Maintains existing learning programs, providing troubleshooting and continuous improvement support as required
  • Stay on top of key trends, technologies, and progressive practices in the internal and external environment which can be leveraged to create fantastic learning
  • Understand business realities, organizational learning, and drivers of success
  • Be a great team member and collaborator: be self-accountable, reliable, and help out whenever and with whatever may be needed within remote work environments and with geographically disparate teams, stakeholders and client groups.
RequirementsAs the ideal team member you possess:
  • A strong understanding of instructional design and/or adult learning principles
  • Strong capabilities in a variety of development tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Google Suite. Experience with the Articulate 360 Suite and Absorb learning management system is an asset.
  • Certificate or diploma in instructional design, learning technologies, or similar and 3+ years experience in a corporate environment (various combinations of education and experience will be considered)
  • A passion for being client-centric at the core of everything you do
  • The ability to take initiative and work independently, and collaboratively with other team members, in a fast paced environment
  • Strong graphic design skills
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written business communication skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in multimedia development would be considered an asset
  • Experience/exposure to organizational change management practice/certification would be considered an asset
