Changing Skylines, Building FuturesPagnotta Inc. is a mid-sized, full-service provider of structural concrete, general contracting, and construction management services with job sites throughout Western Canada.If you are a seasoned Superintendent with 10+ years of field operations experience in a leadership capacity, working on multi-disciplinary construction projects, you are recognized as an expert in the construction industry and have a proven track record of project success, we want to hear from you! `We are seeking an experienced General Contracting Superintendent for our Edmonton area Pagnotta Construction Division reporting to the Construction Manager.Responsibilities:This position is pivotal in supervising and coordinating all on-site project activities in relation to all scopes of work for mixed-use high-rise and commercial construction projects. You will be responsible for executing projects according to Pagnotta’s high safety and quality standards. You’re a highly motivated natural leader with the ability to delegate work to staff and contractors.Duties:

  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications and other contract documents for complete project and all scopes of work
  • Assist project management in planning and developing sound constructability methodology, scheduling and cost control principles
  • Coordinate and execute project work in accordance with schedule and budget for resources from mobilization, construction through to demobilization
  • Ensure the efficient and safe use of labour, materials and machinery in execution of all work
  • Provide safety leadership and ensure full compliance with company Safety Program, OH amp;S regulations and all company reporting requirements
  • Plan, coordinate, execute and record the daily activities of project site work with project staff, tradesmen and subcontractors ensuring sound constructability methodology; hands-on site review of construction methods and installations ensuring high standards of workmanship and efficiency.
  • Assist in the resolution and/or address of design issues and change requirements; actively manage all change requirements
  • Review, record, sign off, track and submit as required, all project documentation compiled from subcontractors, vendors, clients and own forces in accordance with process and procedural requirements
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project’s ongoing progression
  • Monitor job progress and costs, providing regular progress reports to project and upper management.
  • Manage all project administrative activities including time and attendance of own-forces workers, job cost coding for labour, material/equipment orders, purchase order completion and safety reporting requirements
  • Establish effective onsite communications and progress reporting with sub trades, clients and project management staff
  • Maintain effective employee relations through compliance with company policies, employment standards, resolving employee grievances and ensuring fair treatment of employees
  • Take an active role in the selection, training, assignment and supervision of project staff including mentoring and monitoring performance, providing feedback and taking corrective action.
  • Coordinate the daily activities of project staff, construction trades and subcontractors and use corrective actions to keep projects on time and on budget.

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation is required.

Education/Experience:
  • Gold Seal considered an asset
  • NCSO considered an asset
  • PMP considered an asset
  • First aid considered an asset
  • Trade certificate considered an asset
  • 10 + years of construction experience as a Superintendent or similar direct supervisory role on large-scale mixed-use construction projects.
  • Combination of work experience and/or technical training in an industry-related trade certification/education program
  • Mixed use, mid rise/high rise experience considered an asset
  • Experience with budgets over $10- $30 000 000 preferred
Working Conditions:Fast paced construction environment. Outdoors, field work, temperature extremes, noisy and dirty. Steel toe boots required.Travel within Edmonton is required.Powered by JazzHR
