Job Description

Partner Staffing is thequot;go to recruiter quot; for difficult, important, and time-sensitive positions in Western Canada.We work with proactive clients who understand the importance of having exceptional staff.Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking a Commercial Project Manager. You will report directly to the VP of Construction and play a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of commercial construction projects—particularly within the retail petroleum and commercial building sectors. You will be responsible for overseeing projects from pre-construction through to final completion, with a strong focus on safety, schedule adherence, profitability, and quality assurance. Your leadership will contribute directly to the growth and performance of the organization by ensuring client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial accountability.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5–10 years of progressive Project Management experience, ideally in commercial or retail petroleum construction
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects ranging from $3M to $20M+ in value
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and permitting processes
  • Familiarity with petroleum equipment installation, environmental compliance, and site safety practices
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated experience with cost control, budgeting, and financial forecasting
  • Proficiency with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam)
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Alberta as required
RESPONSIBILITIES:Project Executionamp; Oversight
  • Manage all phases of construction projects, including budgeting, procurement, scheduling, and close-out
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget while maintaining high quality and safety standards
  • Develop and maintain critical path schedules, coordinate resources, and proactively identify project risks
Financial Accountability
  • Take full ownership of project budgets, including cost tracking, forecasting, and variance reporting
  • Review and approve subtrade invoices, supplier agreements, and progress draws
Document Controlamp; Administration
  • Prepare, review, and submit construction documents including budget estimates, RFI’s, change orders, contracts, and progress reports
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle
Clientamp; Stakeholder Relations
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, trade partners, and suppliers
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and be accountable for client satisfaction
Team Leadershipamp; Collaboration
  • Lead regular project meetings with internal staff, consultants, and trades to review progress and troubleshoot obstacles
  • Monitor performance of site supervisors and trades to ensure compliance with project goals
  • Enforce healthamp; safety protocols and champion a culture of continuous improvement
Quality Assurance
  • Implement and uphold company policies and procedures for quality control
  • Ensure that workmanship and materials meet or exceed contractual and regulatory standards
