Riverdale is looking for a Fleet Manager to oversee the safe and effective operations of the Shop and Maintenance departments.The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring proper preventative maintenance programs are established and maintained to ensure compliance with all applicable legislations including MTO, OHSA, and OHRC. The Fleet Manager will also execute programs to evaluate and forecast fleet needs as well as make recommendations for the purchase and/or sell of assets based on established fleet strategies.Job Duties:Monitoring and improving key fleet and maintenance operational metricsProviding guidance and leadership to Shop Managers, Maintenance Managers, Lead Hands, Technicians, Parts and Service Administrators and General LabourersRepresent Fleet and Maintenance departments across Riverdale to ensure company-wide collaborationProcure and maintain parts supplier relationships and network of Third-Party repair companiesProcure and maintain equipment supplier and buyer relationshipsManage Fleet maintenance program to ensure equipment is in good working orderMaintain fleet management software (Fleetio) accuracy and use data to make decisionsAccountable for the Shop and Maintenance facilities to foster optimal work environment for employeesConduct annual planning and review of Fleet and Shop Facility capital expendituresEffectively control and manage the Fleet budgetManage the renewal process for Fleet licensingSupport HR with the recruiting processes for shop positionsOther duties as requiredWhat you bring to the role:5+ years of experience working with trucks/trailers/heavy equipment10+ years of experience in a management roleA minimum of 2 years of experience working in change managementPrior experience leading or assisting with process improvement initiativesStrong computer skills.
