About usFort McMurray Swim Club is a premier swim club offering Swim School, Teen Fit, and Competitive Programs. From beginner to national level (ages 6-18) and operates out of Canadas largest recreational facility, MacDonald Island Park.We are now accepting applications for the position of Head Coach commencing the 2022-2023 swim season. We are looking for an energetic and vibrant individual to provide a long-term program and an environment which allows all swimmers to develop skills and attitudes aimed at realizing our mission of “A world class swim club inspiring individual, community and national pride, through the pursuit of personal and aquatic excellence.â€FMSC has been in existence since 1971, and currently has 84 competitive and 160 pre-competitive swimmers. The Club has a long history of producing highly competitive athletes and is looking forward to continued growth in numbers and successes.The City of Fort McMurray, in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, is a thriving, innovative and forward- looking community, nestled in the beautiful Athabasca river valley at the confluence of the Athabasca and Clearwater rivers. The city and region offer many activities and amenities for residents with varied indoor and outdoor interests. In 2010 the Municipality opened a major sport facility with a state-of-the-art multi-sport and cultural complex, housing a world class, 10 lane, 50-meter competition pool and a 4 lane 25m warm up/cool down pool, as well as a state of the art Quantum Electronic Timing System. This facility has enabled the FMSC to host Alberta Long Course Age Group and Senior Championships and host the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games.The successful candidate will be a dedicated, strong communicator and collaborator, a club ambassador in the community, a positive motivator, a strong technician and will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
