Our work culture includes a dynamic mix of professionals, with a diversity of skills and expertise.Are you passionate Quality Assurance The Quality Assurance Manager has prime responsibility for the execution of inspection activities under the QA IMS, ABSA regulations and industry standards and procedures.The position provides leadership, direct support, and supervision associated with the implementation and continuous improvement of the Suncor QA Integrity Management System (IMS) leading to plant safety, integrity and reliability while achieving and maintaining regulatory compliance. You will provide technical advice and direction to comply with the Safety Codes Act – Boilers & Pressure Vessel.Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 years’ experience preferably in the oil and gas industry. Site based experience is desirable
  • Must hold an ABSA In-Service Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspector Certificate of Competency
  • Maintain a valid ‘IS’ or ‘O’ National Board commission
  • Must have expert knowledge of the QA IMS and its application
  • Facilitative leadership style and the ability to use influence to progress inspection Initiatives
  • ability to use SAP applications to manage IR, MOC & Action Management Notifications
  • Demostrated experience reviewing results of inspections and ensure adequate recommendations are presented for corrective actions
  • Competency in Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methodology and Remaining Life Assessment (RLA) and Fitness for Service (FFS) assessment
  • Sound working knowledge of ASME Codes & Standards, API Standards & Recommended Practices, ASTM standards and NACE standards
  • Significant knowledge and experience on Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) methods, Cathodic Protection (CP) and Protective Coating systems
  • Effective communication with Maintenance, Operations, Process and Reliability Engineering team.
Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the implementation of the QA Integrity Management System in area of responsibility
  • Ensures that appropriate and adequate resources are assigned
  • Provide leadership, influence and expertise on matters pertaining to in-service inspection and repair/alterations of boilers, pressure vessels and piping including the fabrication of new piping systems
  • Ensure that thorough and partial inspections are carried out, documented and reported in accordance with QA IMS and designated procedures
  • Exercise independent judgment, originality and ingenuity in providing solutions and recommendations for engineering approval thru the use of repair requests
  • Maintain close relationship with reliability engineering by providing feedback on inspection activities for CFT meetings
  • Assist reliability engineering with deferrals, MOC, AM etc.
  • Participate as an active member of risk review teams and provide leadership in inspection technologies and applications
  • Provides ongoing training and guidance to QA Inspectors.
Location and other Key Details:
  • You will work out of Aurora- Syncrude location in Fort McMurray
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • This position is safety sensitive
