Job Description

Position Scope:The Maintenance Supervisor, is accountable for directing the activities of a mine maintenance crew of trades and support personnel. Utilizing your leadership skills and experience in order to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.Shift: 14 days on 14 days off (days and nights)Site: KearlAccommodations: Camp ProvidedTransportation: Flights provided to and from Calgary or Edmonton to siteResponsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of the workers engaged with the repairing and servicing of heavy & light equipment.
  • Provide oversight and direction to ensure employees and contractors are performing tasks safely and accurately. Report, investigate and document all safety incidents and injuries appropriately.
  • Maintains focus on daily and weekly maintenance plans to ensure compliance to schedule.
  • Provides Safety leadership with daily PSI, weekly Safety meetings. Ensuring compliance to FLRA, JSA, JHA and PPE requirements.
  • Provides resources, tooling and direction as needed to ensure workforce can perform their tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Provide employees and contractors access to SOP’s and OEM information.
  • Develops and maintains communication with appropriate Operations personnel.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records to planning group as required.
  • Manage all repairs and maintenance activities through JDE work order system.
  • Utilize scheduled oil sampling to monitor machine health.
  • Work with Reliability and Long Range Planning to capture all warranty opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Experience related to the mining industry.
  • 3 years of previous Supervisory experience in a related field or industry
  • Ticketed tradesperson in a related field preferably with I.P. Red Seal designation considered an asset
  • Post secondary education, AMSA
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills, MS office products.
  • JDE experience an asset. CSTS training required.
Summary:All successful candidates must:
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Have experience as requested as mentioned above
  • Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  • Disclose COVID-19 vaccination status:
  • Fully immunized individuals must provide government issued proof of vaccination to be exempt from site testing requirements
  • Individuals not fully immunized may be subject to site COVID-19 testing requirements and associated costs
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
  • Breath Alcohol Test
  • Urine Drug Test
  • Fitness-to-Work Assessment
  • Audiometric Testing
  • Vision Screening
Shift, site, and start times are subject to change.All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:
  • CSO Certification
  • Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract
  • VOID cheque/direct deposit form
