THE OPPORTUNITYHSE Field Advisor - Temporary/Term Assignment - SCL SiteMM Limited Partnership (MML), a Mikisew Group company, is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of HSE Field Advisor to join our organization.We are looking for self-motivated and passionate safety professionals to provide direct administrative and field support to our Site HSE team for both night and day shifts. This is a temporary position that is a great opportunity to build your HSE experience with a growing organization.Purpose & Key AccountabilitiesWorking in a collaborative team, you will be responsible for the completion of a combination of daily administrative and field processes for our onsite HSE Department. This position is located at Syncrude - Mildred Lake within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and will be in support of Turnaround activities in the Central Maintenance Shops. This is a fast-paced, results driven role in a dynamic and exciting industry.Roles and Responsibilities

  • Be available as a HSE resource for company and client shop supervision and workforce. Field response to any incident/urgent situations.
  • Coordinate, plan and assist in scheduling training courses for employees, and deliver the daily and monthly safety communications.
  • Responsible for the collection and compilation of monthly safety statistics in support of KPI Tracking
  • Responsible for keeping all HSE-related files up to date and archived
  • Perform daily safe work observations & inspections. Investigate and assist in resolving concerns related to Health & Safety
  • Lead/assist in the development of hazard assessments, safe work practices, and incident investigation action plans.
  • Perform other HSE-related duties as required and identified by the HSE Lead and client representatives
Working ConditionsThe position is based at Syncrude Mildred Lake plant site, located within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. Daily travel to/from site is required (bussing is provided). Working conditions include frequently accessing a heavy industrial fabrication shop environment. Hours of work are 12 hour shifts 07:30-19:30 for day shift and19:30 -7:30 for night shift on a Hours of Work Averaging Arrangement (HWAA). Shift rotation TBD. Candidates with local residency are preferred however camp may be provided if required.   • Must be a highly motivated and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking
  • Minimum eight (8) years experience in a Health & Safety Field advisor role (preferred Oilsands experience) with an established workplace safety designation (NCSO, OH&S Certificate, etc)
  • Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize competing tasks
  • Experience working within fabrication shops or similar trade work is an asset
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office Apps
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License (clean abstract or minimal demerits)
