Job Description

Position Scope:NACG is seeking an experienced Intermediate Maintenance Yardperson to join our dynamic and industry leading organization.Site: Syncrude-AuroraSchedule: 14x14 (rotating days and nights)Overtime: Provided after 8 hours per day or 44 hours in a weekAccommodations: Not providedTransportation: Transportation to and from site provided, plus an additional $33/day Travel Incentive PayRate: $34.24The successful candidate will be required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance, cleanup, and organizational duties within work areas (ie. roadways, clear snow, address potholes, water, etc.)
  • Assist technicians with job setup/tear-down
  • Assist technicians with assembly and testing when required (under direct supervision)
  • Gather/deliver parts and components to assist job process
  • Segregate waste and ensure proper storage of all controlled products in work areas
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6 months previous experience in a shop/field heavy equipment maintenance environment
  • Must hold a valid Class 5 License and have previous light duty vehicle experience on Oil Sands sites
  • WHIMIS, TDG, Waste Segregation training, and Class 3 w/air endorsement are assets
Summary:All successful candidates must:
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Have experience as requested as mentioned above
  • Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
  • Breath Alcohol Test
  • Urine Drug Test
  • Fitness-to-Work Assessment
  • Audiometric Testing
  • Vision Screening
  • Criminal Record Check
Shift, site, and start times are subject to change.All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:
  • CSO or BSO Certification
  • Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract
  • VOID cheque/direct deposit form
  • Silica Awareness
  • Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness
Once dispatched the following processes will occur:
  • Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing
  • An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out
  • After all results are received by NACG candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site specific details.
