Job Description

We are devoted to making “Safety… Our Way of Life”.The Mail Room Driver will be responsible for retrieving mail from various locations at Syncrude Base, Fort McKay Industrial Park and Aurora Site; then sorting mail and delivering to drop off locations. The incumbent is responsible and accountable for knowing and working in accordance with the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP Health and Safety Policy as well as Commercial Vehicle Regulations.Key Focuses:

  • Maintain professional driving habits
  • Maintain a clean vehicle
  • Complete pre and post checks on the vehicle and fill out a daily log
  • Report all damage of the vehicle to the Supervisor and record damage on the daily pre-trip inspection log
  • Comply with all highway and road regulations on and off site
  • Be alert to risks or threats in order to prevent losses before they occur
  • Give proper care to the operation and maintenance of the vehicles
  • Lift and carry boxes/ parcels to buildings or offices
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Must be dependable and reliable
  • Must practice safe lifting
  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision
  • Computer skills would be an asset
  • Create courier shipment requests
  • Weigh and stamp mail packages
  • Mailroom Syncrude, Monday to Friday schedule (8 hr days, days only)
Skills and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Class five (5) drivers license, along with clean five (5) year driving abstract is required
  • Clean Criminal Record Check is required
  • BSO or CSO is required
  • Ability to deal with constant change is important
  • Excellent communication and human interactions are vital
  • Resourcefulness and ingenuity will be an asset.
