Our Hospital Operations and Consulting Services department services Northern Alberta communities with locations in Fort McMurray, Lacrete, Fort Vermilion and High Level. DynaLIFE North offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment that enables you to work to your full-scope of practice.Major Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerforms reception and clerical duties, and ensures an orderly patient flow.Provides information regarding hours of operation, etc.Books appointments for procedures, where required.Obtains and verifies patient information.Obtains and verifies requisition for accuracy and completeness.Provides instructions to patients for various types of collections.Performs accurate data entry and accessioning functions in the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), including demographics, codes, and accession numbers.Processes patient specimens with appropriate labels, cross-checking specimens with original documents for possible errors.Process patient specimens using appropriate packaging for transportation of diagnostic specimens and infectious substances in accordance with TDG regulations.Copies and distributes reports.Maintains files.Maintains accounts receivables including collections for third party patients.Maintains adequate supplies for normal departmental tasks and routines.Maintains equipment and performs housekeeping duties.Troubleshoots/problem solves within scope of position.Required SkillsA strong team player with the ability to perform duties independently and professionally.Neat and legible handwriting.Flexible to meet operational requirements including hours of work and location.Strong customer service and time management skills.Required ExperienceCustomer Service experience is an assetExperience working within a healthcare environment is an assetMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent is requiredOther InformationAs workload demands and operational requirements shift, the location, dates and/or hours of work may be changedSuccessful candidates will be required to don and doff personal protective equipment, including a procedure mask or N95 respirator, face shield, gown and gloves for up to 7.5 hours per day.The current shift indicated is subject to change due to operational requirementsAll persons newly hired to DynaLIFE must show their confirmation of SIN letter/SIN card and government issued photo ID to Human Resources prior to commencing work.All persons hired to DynaLIFE must be authorized to work in Canada for any employer.Individuals hired into all positions must provide verification of their highest level of education.A security clearance will be required for employees newly hired to DynaLIFE.A security clearance with vulnerable sector completed may be required for employees newly hired to DynaLIFE
