Job Description

Position Scope:NACG is looking for Service Technicians to work on a remote mining site in the Fort McMurray area. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.Site: Syncrude AuroraSchedule: 14x7 - 12 hours (paid for 11.5 hours) (Days and nights)Accommodations: Not provided, $5/hour Living Out AllowanceTransportation: Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts), plus an additional $33/day for Travel Incentive PayOvertime: Provided after 8 hours a day or 44 hours a weekThe successful candidate will be required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.Responsibilities:

  • Fueling/lubricating heavy equipment in the field.
  • Assist with PM/Lube Services at Lube Islands and in the field (oil and Filter changes)
  • Daily Fueling and shift servicing or equipment at the Lube Islands
  • Daily servicing/Fueling of the large loading equipment in the mine
  • Assisting maintenance with lube extraction/refilling during repairs
Specific Requirements:
  • Previous experience driving a combo truck an asset
  • Excavator/Shovel Servicing experience an asset
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the serviceperson (serviceman) role required
  • Previous experience in the oil sands required
  • Class 3 license with air brakes
Summary:All successful candidates must:
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Have experience as requested as mentioned above
  • Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
  • Breath Alcohol Test
  • Urine Drug Test
  • Fitness-to-Work Assessment
  • Audiometric Testing
  • Vision Screening
  • Criminal Record Check
Shift, site, and start times are subject to change.All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:
  • CSO or BSO Certification
  • Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract
  • VOID cheque/direct deposit form
  • Silica Awareness
  • Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness
Once dispatched the following processes will occur:
  • Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing
  • An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out
  • After all results are received by NACG candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site specific details.
