Job Description

Position Scope:Dene North Division, is looking for Steam Truck Operators to work on a remote mining sites in the Fort McMurray area.You must be well-organized and favour safety above everything else.Schedule: 14x7- 12 hoursTransportation: Provided to and from Fort McMurray to siteCamp accommodations are provided on a need-to basis depending on which site work is required, LOA is NOT provided, prefer residents local to Fort McMurray.Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning of heavy duty equipment using High Pressure hot water and enviormentally friendly Cleaners.
  • Help out in all tasks including general yard clean up, assisting mechanics and steamers and other day to day tasks as directed by the maintenance supervisor.
  • Very physically demanding position in adverse conditions. Rain gear, appropriate foot wear and PPE will be provided.
Qualifications:
  • Valid class 5 license; possibly required to acquire Class 3 based on demand.
  • Must be able to operate a standard vehicle.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with mobile steam unit experience.
  • Must be a self-starter, experience operating forklift, bobcat and loader would be an asset.
  • AWP and Fall arrest would be an asset.
  • Access to Suncor, Syncrude ansd Syncrude Aurora & Kearl.
Candidates with site experience preferred.Summary:All successful candidates must:
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Have experience as requested in the job description above
  • Be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  • Disclose COVID-19 vaccination status (Kearl Lake ONLY):
    • Fully immunized individuals must provide government issued proof of vaccination to be exempt from site testing requirements
    • Individuals not fully immunized may be subject to site COVID-19 testing requirements and associated costs
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing:
  • Breath Alcohol Test
  • Urine Drug Test
  • Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment
  • Audiometric Testing
  • Vision Screening
All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:
  • CSO Certification; or
  • CSTS Certification and OSSA Regional only required if candidate does not have the above certification
  • Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract
  • VOID cheque/direct deposit form
