Job Description

Position ScopeWe are looking for several Ground Workers to join our team at Syncrude Base Plant and Aurora in Fort McMurray, AB:

  • Camp provided for succesful out of town candidates
    • Bussing provided to site daily
  • Shift schedules may vary
    • 14 days on 7 days off
    • 7 days, 7 nights, 7 off
    • 10 days on 4 days off
  • Successful candidates will be required to join the Local Operators Union (955)
    • Benefits and pension are provided through the Union

Summary of RequirementsResponsibilities:
  • Set up dewatering pumps and hoses
  • Rake and shovel gravel
  • Run small compacting equipment
  • Lift up to 50lbs
  • Other tasks as assigned
Required Certificates:
  • CSTS-09 or CSTS 2020
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Wildlife/Bear Awareness
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Ground Disturbance 101 or 201
  • Valid classified driver’s license
  • Drivers abstract
  • Other certification may be required based on site requirements
Successful candidates must:
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
    • Breath Alcohol Test
    • Urine Drug Test
