Intermediate Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance EngineerAbout TWD Technologies Ltd:TWD is an engineering, procurement, and construction management consulting company providing project development, execution and specialty engineering services with expertise ranging from infrastructure and building design to refineries, pipelines, terminalling and blending, renewables, food and beverage, power, downstream chemical processing and much more. Our team is dedicated to providing clients with effective business and technical solutions through exceptional levels of service, innovation and flexibility.TWD is currently seeking a Intermediate Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer to support our headquarters in Calgary, AB as an Independent Contractor. Our Client is seeking an experienced and driven Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer. The incumbent will utilize their sound technical skills to provide technical support to Operations, Maintenance and Reliability Engineering, and prepare high quality design packages, as required.Key Accountabilities

  • Provide Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance engineering support to terminals across Canada.
    • Frequent travel to site will be required for this role.
  • Root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance during troubleshooting activities to recover plant production, as required.
  • Lead or provide technical support during incident investigations.
  • Review equipment test results and advise on the frequency and scope of maintenance activities or if repairs / replacements/equipment upgrades are needed.
  • Participate in risk analysis work activities, develop engineering solutions for various plant issues.
  • Develop, present and/or make modifications to scope of work for maintenance as well as provide support during execution.
  • Responsible for small to medium MOCs.
  • Make recommendations for the procurement of materials, equipment and services for assigned work.
  • Complete electrical engineering work packages for equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with cleints SPI(s), specifications and standards.
  • Prepare high quality (technically sound, timely, complete and cost effective etc.) design packages with well-understood scopes of work.
  • Prepare detailed design, supply, construction and installation specifications.
  • Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications.
  • Analyze electrical and instrumentation equipment data and historical failure information to produce equipment end of life strategies and obsolescence plans, or produce equipment failure reports.
QualificationsExperience and Education:
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian University or equivalent as recognized by APEGA
  • Professional Engineer (APEGA and/or PEO)
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good communication, collaboration, networking and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong team player and self-starter.
  • Ability to work in an office and field environment.
  • Knowledge of industry codes, standards and practices.
  • Ability to utilize sound technical practices/analysis to support recommendations, and solve complex technical problems with limited supervision.
Requirements:
  • Valid class 5 driver #39;s license.
  • Must be eligible to work permanently in Canada.
Work LocationThis is a site based position. Frequent travel to the client’s distribution terminals will be required. Most of the work will take place in Ontario and Quebec.
