Aurora College is currently going through a transformation to becoming a polytechnic university and this is an exciting time to be on the team.Job InformationThe Instructor, Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the planning, organization, instruction, delivery and evaluation of educational programming for adult learners. They are responsible for instructing courses in the Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) Program, evaluating the courses, supervising students in practical environments and recommending changes/ improvements as required. The Instructor may be required to instruct the HEO Program in various communities throughout the NWT and is expected to maintain a learning environment that is conducive to providing the highest quality of education possible. A strong commitment to the positive career development of adult students within NWT communities is essential. The incumbent is seen as a representative of the College and therefore plays a critical role in creating and promoting a positive image for the College.As an instructor, the incumbent is required to attend regular program meetings, and report regularly to his/ her supervisor on student progress.
