About the OpportunityHarmac Pacific currently has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Nanaimo, B.C. The successful candidate will be working 4 days a week, with 10 hour shifts.As our new Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will work as part of an integrated maintenance team that provides the full range of maintenance support for our pulp and power businesses.About Harmac PacificWe are a Market Pulp and Energy production facility located in Nanaimo; B.C. Our vision is “to create an industrial site occupied by businesses that can compete with the best in the world.Our success will be achieved through the guidance, ingenuity, and hard work of the people that both work for and own our company.”About YouTo qualify for this role, you possess an Interprovincial Heavy Duty Mechanic trades qualification, and a sound base of knowledge and experience in the maintenance of industrial mobile equipment including Bulldozers, Loaders, Clamp Trucks, Cranes, Dump Trucks, and Forklifts. Experience with (Cat ET) and Cat (SIS) programs is preferred. You must also be extremely organized, and able to work well independently, and as part of a team. Candidates with skills in welding, refrigeration, and other related trades skills will find that our work environment provides an opportunity to expand and refine those skills.
