About the OpportunityHarmac Pacific currently has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Red Seal Millwright to join our team in Nanaimo, B.C. The successful candidate will be working 4 days a week, with 10-hour shifts.As our new Millwright, you will work as part of an integrated maintenance team that provides the full range of maintenance support for our pulp and power businesses.About Harmac PacificWe are a Market Pulp and Energy production facility located in Nanaimo; B.C. Harmac Pacific has a unique business model where employees are also shareholders of a private company and have a determined commitment to succeed. Our primary business is operating Pulp Mill which is renowned for its production of world class quality NBSK pulp, along with green electrical energy generation that is exported to BC Hydro. Our vision is “to create an industrial site occupied by businesses that can compete with the best in the world.Our success will be achieved through the guidance, ingenuity, and hard work of the people that both work for and own our company.”About YouTo qualify for this role, you possess a Red Seal Millwright Certification. Our preferred candidate will be in good physical condition and able to work in all areas of the mill, while applying the full range of the millwright trade functions to support breakdown maintenance including cutting, burning, heating, basic welding, and pipefitting. Candidates must be proficient with the Mill Stores System and Dynamics.You are willing to assist with troubleshooting process issues as they relate to equipment operation, and work overtime requirements for breakdowns, planned mill shutdowns, and the requirement as outlined in the Joint Labour Agreement if relief is not available. As our ideal candidate, you must be able to participate as a member of a team of business partners who have a common interest in the success of the business. You are an independent self-starter, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a sound base of knowledge and experience. You are highly organized and adaptable to changes in the work environment. Along with your qualifications, you will be a proven team player who is excited about contributing to the business.
