Gateway Facilities ULC, located at Halifax International Airport, is the premier integrated transportation network on North America’s East Coast. Our geographic location, unique facilities and exceptional customer service combine to provide our clients with an unparalleled strategic link to markets world wide.Gateway has two facilities, one with 7,000-square-foot of refrigerated warehouse space, the largest facility of its kind north of Miami and the second facility with 19,800-square feet. We transport refrigerated cargo with a non-controlled time period of just two minutes between facility and aircraft, ensuring a high survival rate of perishable cargo.We store cargo in our warehouses at temperatures between 3°C and 20°C; roller-bed trailers are also available to store frozen cargo at -10°C.In 2015, Gateway moved 9.2 million kg. of cargo. 2016, that number exceeded 13 million kg. Any personal information received by Gateway employees, including any information regarding employee vaccination status, ability to receive a vaccine, or test results will be held in the strictest confidence and will be retained only as long as necessary for the administration of this policy.Job description listed below: Load and unload trucks.Inspect and count items received.Assemble ULDs, containers and crates used to transport various items including perishable goods, onto cargo aircrafts.The employee will be required to lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive bases during the shift.Physically build and de-build cargo pallets.Provide special handling of cargo as required/directed.Drive and/or operate ground support equipment such as tow tractors & towing of cargo dollies.Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager.Report all incidents/accidents to the appropriate supervisor/manager.Comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority and carrier security requirements.Other duties may be assigned.On the job training provided.MUST PROVIDE a criminal background check issued by local Police.MUST PROVIDE original birth certificate, which is needed for Transport Canada application.MUST PROVIDE original valid passport, which is needed for Transport Canada application.Fork lift certification/experience an asset.Hold a Transport Canada, Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) an asset.Hold a Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP) an asset.Job Types: Part-time, PermanentSalary: $15.00 per hourBenefits:
