Job Description

Manpower is recruiting for a Full Time Material Handlers. Are you looking for reliable work in the Supply chain sector. If so, then you need to speak with Manpower today! On behalf of our client, we are looking for full-time Material Handlers at the Halifax AirportWhats in it for you

  • Full time hours Monday to Friday $17.75/hr12:45 pm to 8:45 pm [30 min unpaid lunch] or Monday to Friday 5 pm to 9 pm $17.75/hr
  • Paid weekly
Whats the job
  • Sort packages based on customer, airport of destination, and other parameters
  • Communicate piece counts, and package information to Lead Hands, and Supervisors
  • Handle customer packages, and freight with due care and attention
  • Ensure all safety and security protocols are adhered to
  • Meet time sensitive deadlines for freight build-up/breakdown as part of a team dynamic · Learn and apply specific training modules required for position (WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, Hazard Prevention, etc.)
  • Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights up to 60lbs.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions · Off load/load trucks and aircraft containers safely and efficiently
  • Receive and verify all shipping documents
  • Sort, count and reconcile inbound freight against relevant documentation including load plans, Manifests and Air Waybills
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and other duties as required
What you bring to the role:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent experience
  • Ability to obtain a RAIC pass (Transport Canada Security Clearance) · Ability to lift up to 60lbs ·
  • Ability to work within a "team first" environment, and complete common goals within time sensitive deadlines
  • Excellent punctuality, and attendance habits
  • Ability to learn quickly, and adapt to fast changing customer requirements
  • Willingness to take direction with a keen interest in further development within the local operation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible to work shift work, weekends and stat holidays
  • Be willing to be subject to a background check; clearance is required
