Gateway Facilities ULC, located at Halifax International Airport, is the premier integrated transportation network on North America’s East Coast. We transport refrigerated cargo with a non-controlled time period of just two minutes between facility and aircraft, ensuring a high survival rate of perishable cargo.We store cargo in our warehouses at temperatures between 3°C and 20°C; roller-bed trailers are also available to store frozen cargo at -10°C.In 2015, Gateway moved 9.2 million kg. of cargo. 2016, that number exceeded 13 million kg. Any personal information received by Gateway employees, including any information regarding employee vaccination status, ability to receive a vaccine, or test results will be held in the strictest confidence and will be retained only as long as necessary for the administration of this policy.Job description listed below: Drive and/or operate ground support equipment to include tow tractors, tow bars, belt loaders, container loaders, baggage tugs, aircraft ground power units, air passenger stairs & cargo dollies.Load & offload cargo freighter aircrafts.Inspect ramp areas adjacent to gate and aircraft for debris and remove/dispose of when found.Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager.Report all incidents/accidents to the appropriate supervisor/manager.Comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority and carrier security requirements.Other duties may be assigned.On the job training provided.MUST PROVIDE a criminal background check issued by local Police.MUST PROVIDE original birth certificate, which is needed for Transport Canada application.MUST PROVIDE original valid passport, which is needed for Transport Canada application.Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. At the time any offer of employment is made and seeking any required work permits/visas or other authorizations which may be required, is the sole responsibility of the candidates applying for this position.Available for shift work and irregular work hours, which includes early mornings, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.Fork lift certification/experience an asset.Holding a Transport Canada, Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) an asset.Holding a Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP) an asset.Flexible schedule that can work around other current jobs.Hourly wage negotiable pending on experience.Job Types: Part-time, PermanentSalary: $15.00-$18.00 per hourBenefits:
