Job Description

IntroductionWJ Groundwater is the leading construction dewatering and groundwater specialist in the UK with operations in Canada, the Middle East & Poland.WJ Groundwater strives to meet client expectations for dewatering system performance and execute projects on time and on budget. Yard operations provide an essential and pivotal support to site operations in achieving these objectives.The Shipper/Receiver supports our business by receiving and recording the movement of parts, supplies, equipment, etc., the restocking of parts and supplies to and from our facility and preparing dewatering, water management systems and other equipment for delivery to site.The General Labour aspect of the position entails preparing fittings & assemblies as required, general yard cleanup, etc.High quality workmanship is critical in ensuring long term reliability of our systems.In this function, the incumbent will develop and demonstrate a familiarity with our dewatering systems and yard process workflow.Reports to Yard SupervisorWorks with Logistics Specialist, Project Engineers, Rig Mechanics, Pump Technicians, Yard Crew, General Laborer, Delivery Drivers, Purchasing, etc.,Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop an understanding of systems & fittings to ensure that items collected & delivered are correct and consistent with documentation such as packing slips, delivery notes, bills of landing.
  • Collect packing slips, maintain records, and inspection sheets to submit to the Accounting Technician and Yard Supervisor and complete paperwork as required.
  • Load, unload, move material manually or by using material handling equipment such as a forklift, skid steer, or pallet truck.
  • Handle, count, pack, and unpack as part of the material handling work.
  • Unpack, scan and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
  • Assist in organizing, maintaining, and recording inventory of fittings, assemblies and other equipment and spare parts at the yard.
  • Assemble, disassemble, refurbish, and test various dewatering and water treatment systems, pumping stations and their components (tanks, pumps, pipe fittings, valves, manifolds, filters, gauges, hoses, tubes, dosing equipment, joints, insulation, etc.).
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Other responsibilities as required by changing business needs.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong motivation, exceptional work ethic, professional demeanor, organizational skills and a commitment to achieving objectives.
  • Experience in shipping & receiving.
  • Experience and/or forklift & skid steer license.
  • Experience with dewatering, drilling or construction equipment is considered an asset.
  • Experience with fluid handling, pumping, or piping equipment systems or processes, or mechanical/HVAC is also beneficial.
  • Experience in warehousing, transportation, or other related industry is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office software is required, experience with Smartsheet & Trello is preferred.
