Reporting to the Manager, Transit Business Services. The successful candidate support our Service Excellence goal, on the phone, by email and in person and and clerical duties for Guelph Transit. The successful candidate will be scheduled to work up to 20 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.Notes:This part time casual position if for approximately 7 to 8 months.Your role

  • Provide excellent and timely customer service to both external and internal customers, via telephone, e-mail, website and in-person
  • Perform large volumes of customer transactions that including setting up new transit fare accounts, reloading transit fares, providing route planning, logging customer complaints and answering general inquires
  • Track and log lost articles.
  • Process requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and journal entries.
  • Perform daily clerical work and/or support, including, filing, typing duties, ordering office supplies and sorting/distributing mail.
  • Complete coin counting and/or verification:
    • Verify all revenue collected from cash fare boxes in the vault.
    • Track foreign coin and non-currency received.
    • Prepare cash reconciliation spreadsheets.
    • Ensure revenue and appropriate documentation is handled in accordance with procedures.
    • Prepare deposits for Brinks pickup;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience related to the duties listed above, normally acquired through the completion of a Grade 12 diploma and 1 - 2 years experience in customer service and general clerical duties. Candidates with an equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with financial systems (e.g. Oracle Utilities WAM (Synergen) and JD Edwards).
  • Experience handling large volumes of coin (cash).
  • Excellent data entry skills with the ability to transpose information a very high degree of accuracy and speed.
  • Excellent customer service skills with sound judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skill with the ability to work on your own and in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, stakeholders and the general public.
  • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook ).
  • Previous experience with, Perfect Mind, JDEdwards and WAM would be a definite.
