Job Description

About usLighthouse Montessori Canada is a daycare center located in Guelph (Ontario), it is in a serene and green space that includes indoor and outdoor amenities surrounded by ravines and natural landscapes. It is the perfect place for children to learn while also experiencing clean and fresh airs calming and nurturing effects.Our school environment is positive, collaborative, and supportive. We take great care in our prepared environments and we are building a school community that we could be proud of.The Administrator is responsible for a wide range of tasks that are essential for smooth running of the Child Care Center. Administrator performs various routines including check email box, clerical work, parents’ communication, staff training and opening and closing the school. The Administrator will split time between administrative duties and assisting teachers and children in the classrooms and at the playground.Qualifications and Experience:

  • Two years or more working in a similar role as the receptionist or administrator.
  • Strong soft skills and in person communication skills in order to interact with parents and internal employees.
  • Time management skills to be able to prioritize activities.
  • A team player who is kind, caring and enthusiastic.
  • Current CPR and first aid certificate.
  • Current criminal reference check, vulnerable sector screening.
  • Updated Immunization record.
  • Administrative skills to be able to use computer programs including Microsoft Office
  • Experienced of using the daycare software – School Cues (preferred but not required)
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Create a welcoming environment by greeting guests/parents/children, answering phone calls, directing visitors, and taking messages for employees.
  • Schedule and organise tours for parents.
  • Manage the waiting list and accepting new applications.
  • Prepare the package for children enrollment.
  • Daily/weekly/annual inspections of the playground and preparation of inspection reports.
  • Monitoring the inventory (stationary, cleaning supply, kitchen supply, toilet paper, paper towels etc.) and placement the order to vendors.
  • Prepare and publish posts on the website and social media.
  • Coordinates the booking and setting up of the meeting room.
  • Provide support and help for teachers during the day upon request (eg children supervision to manage the required ratio).
