Our Hybrid Workplace policy allows for an effective balance for employees with the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment; a combination of Remote / In-office work based on operational requirements.Position Purpose:The Intern: Communication and Thought Leadership will work collaboratively with cross functional teams and relevant stakeholders/partners to deliver communications and thought leadership for the Alectra Green Energy & Technology Centre (GRE&T) Centre, the innovation hub of Alectra. The GRE&T Centre enables the adoption of clean technology by identifying, evaluating, developing and accelerating emerging, clean and customer-friendly energy solutions.The intern will be responsible for supporting the team in all aspects of internal and external communication, branding and thought leadership initiatives for the needs of the GRE&T Centre. The role includes researching, writing, editing, distributing content, and in assisting the department as needed with the development and exploration of new initiatives in emerging, clean, and customer-friendly energy solutions.Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a content calendar to support the development and delivery of the GRE&T Centre’s online presence (website, social media) and thought leadership initiatives in collaboration with the Alectra Corporate Communications team.
  • Draft, edit and proofread articles, whitepapers, case studies, and other content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Support the team in creating and executing thought leadership campaigns, including webinars, and events.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to create visual content that aligns with the companys brand guidelines.
  • Assist in the creation of marketing collateral such as flyers, brochures, and presentations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Communications and Marketing team as needed.
  • Travel and attend conferences and other events and meetings, as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and CompetenciesEducation & Specialized Knowledge:
  • Post-secondary degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism or comparable education or experience. Individuals currently pursuing a Masters degree in any of these fields are strongly urged to apply
  • Knowledge of electricity, energy and/or sustainability industries is an asset.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and analytics tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other relevant software like Canva
Experience:
  • 1 year experience in Marketing, Branding and Communications is preferred, but not essential.
Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
  • Creative thinking with an ability to balance multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solving capability to resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, must be able to convey brand, style and technical information in an organized and concise way.
  • Excellent self-starter and team player.
  • Excellent project management skills with strong budgeting, organization, analytical and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize collaborative and ready to work with a variety of departments and stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of integrated marketing communications.
