Job Description

A search has begun, internal to the university, for a new Chair of the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the Associate or Full Professor rank. The initial appointment will be for five years to begin May 1, 2023, or soon thereafter and may be renewed once.The Mathematics & Statistics department features; 25 research and teaching faculty, over 130 students in undergraduate majors, more than 45 students in graduate programs, award winning researchers and teaching excellence. Faculty members are active in Applied Analysis; Biomathematics and Biostatistics; Computational Statistics; Dynamical Systems; Quantum Information, Survival Analysis, Scholarship of Teaching & Learning, and other areas. In addition, research grants in Mathematics and Statistics total approximately $1 Million from all sources.The University of Guelph is the third largest employer in Guelph, a city of approximately 130,000 people, located about an hour drive west of Toronto, Ontario.
