Job Description

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Business Development and Training Lead will develop and maximize our Career Exploration Portal (CEP) resource hub by networking, marketing and establishing partnerships with community partners, employers, individuals and interested volunteers. You will work with employers, post-secondary contacts, professionals and various volunteers from start to finish to ensure that their experience with getting involved and contributing to our portal is seamless.The Business Development and Training Lead will also manage and deliver all workplace wellness and readiness training workshops for groups of youth, including students. Delivery is currently primarily virtual, but could be in-person (Guelph/Wellington/Dufferin) as things open up. You must have your own transportation.This position is currently based from your virtual home office, but some travel is likely to be required to attend meetings or delivery workshops as things open up. This position currently requires access to a reliable Wi-Fi/stable internet and a workplace free of distractions. Zoom will be required.Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Contacting businesses, employers, and individual professionals to secure their interest and involvement in the Career Exploration Portal to meet team sales goals (annual activations)
  • Communicating about annual activation fees, tracking replies, billing, providing agreements
  • Working with interested employers and professionals to identify their needs around video content (e.g. development and editing) to represent their company, school, sector or career on the Career Exploration Portal
  • Managing all details around recruitment, tracking and screening/onboarding of new career speaker volunteers
  • Using Canva to design branded marketing materials to solicit interest in the Career Exploration Portal
  • Benchmarking, goal setting and providing status updates to the Career Education Council (CEC) team
  • Reporting, data entry and other support/administrative function
  • Managing the scheduling and delivery of new and re-occurring workshops and virtual youth programming
  • Hosting virtual meetings and taking notes (minutes)
  • Converting files to fillable PDF
  • Updating and maximizing tracking tools (Microsoft Excel, etc.)
  • Creating flyers and newsletter items to promote workshops, programs, and portal resources
Qualifications:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Sales experience would be an asset
  • Experience with outreach or sales using different methods of communication – LinkedIn, Phone, Email, Zoom
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, or Google Sheets
  • Experience with virtual work platforms such as: Microsoft, Google and Zoom
  • Video editing capabilities using Movie-Maker, Canva, or Prezi, is required
  • An understanding of branding concepts in marketing design would be an asset
  • Program development and facilitation experience would be an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a professional representative of an organization is required
  • Facilitation skills and teaching/speaking confidence will be required
  • Proficiency in Canva design and possibly other design software/platforms
