Job Description

Stonehenge Therapeutic Community provides a range of residential and community-based treatment services to individuals struggling with addiction and concurrent mental health issues. Grounded in the Therapeutic Community model of treatment, the agency is committed to taking the journey together and supporting those with whom we work to grow, thrive, and contribute to society.Stonehenge delivers long-term, intensive residential treatment services to those whose addiction/concurrent presentations are complex. Many of our clients enter treatment directly from the Federal and Provincial correctional systems._ We believe that every individual has the capacity to grow and contribute to society _*About the Role: *The Clinical Supervisor is responsible to is to oversee a staff team of Residential Counsellors and Psychoeducational Facilitators who work varying shifts (including evenings, overnights and weekends) at our Residential addiction treatment centers. In addition to demonstrating strong clinical skills and professional judgment, our ideal candidate will have experience in developing high performing staff teams.This role will work collaboratively with the Clinical Leadership in support of STCs Therapeutic Community (Residential Program). Previous experience working in a residential treatment environment and group facilitation skills are essential to this role.*Role Type: * Full Time, Permanent*Hours of Work: *

  • Monday to Friday (days), with evening and weekend work on a regular and rotational basis to effectively support oversight of staff teams.
  • Participation in a mandatory clinical on call rotation is also required, as a shared responsibility of the Clinical Leadership team.

Qualifications:
  • BSW or other relevant university degree relevant to addiction, mental health or social services
  • A minimum of 1 year of direct clinical work with individuals experiencing addiction and concurrent mental health issues required
  • Registration with a professional college (i.e. CRPO, OCSWSSW); Candidates who are in process of being registered are encouraged to apply
  • Previous experience in the field of addictions and group skills mandatory
  • Previous experience working with trauma and concurrent disorders
  • Previous experience in residential treatment an asset
  • Previous experience in correctional field an asset
  • Previous experience with justice-involved individuals preferred
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and team leadership
  • Certified Addictions Counsellor or equivalent would be an asset
  • Lived experience related to addictions and/or mental health an asset
  • Valid G Driver’s License
  • Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record and Reliable Vehicle
  • CSC Clearance conducted by PWGS Canada
  • Standard First Aid/CPR Level C
  • Must be able to attend work (travel to Residential Centres) within an hour of notification, when on call
*Role Responsibilities: *Leadership and Supervision
  • Oversee the Residential Support Staff team and Group Facilitator team including:
*
  • Supporting professional development of clinical staff through routine supervision
  • Providing coaching, feedback, mentoring, and targeted use of supervision as required
  • Complete probationary and annual performance appraisals for all supervisees in consultation with Clinical Manager – Residential Services
  • Participate in new staff recruitment in conjunction with the HR Manager
  • Orient and support new staff in understanding role and responsibilities
  • Build and maintain high performance teams
  • Guide clinical decision-making and manage high-risk situations
  • Provide on call support and crisis supervision on “off hours”, on a rotational basis, as required
  • Facilitate monthly meetings for the Residential Support Staff
  • Participate in all team meetings
  • Support and enhance a culture of openness and mutual respect within and across teams
  • Attend weekly Leadership Team meeting
  • Participate in a support/development plan; Supervisor to provide coverage for the Clinical Manager during short term absences (holiday coverage, etc.); take on necessary responsibilities and support agency and program decision making
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required
Ongoing Program Development for Residential Services
  • Conduct Therapeutic Community Concepts Training for staff and residents
  • Support residential staff in utilizing a TC approach to decision making and interventions
  • Work alongside the STC Leadership Team, while utilizing the TC approach, to support program development
Administrative
  • Complete regular clinical file audits
  • Maintain thorough and accurate supervision notes and files
  • Participate in quality assurance processes such as accreditation and the implementation of residential program outcome measurement tools and reporting of results (i.e. client satisfaction surveys, retention results, etc.)
  • Sign off hours for electronic payroll
