We also offer employment letters to assist new Canadians with their immigration requirements.The CNC Machinist/Operator PositionSafety always comes first in the work we do at CGL, followed closely by our commitment to provide our Customers with the critical components they require to support the production and distribution of food, transportation infrastructure, and the distribution of goods we all rely on everyday. The work we do is important and we are proud of the role we play in these key industries.We pride ourselves on maintaining a clean and safe work environment while applying the principles of standard work to ensure our customers receive good parts on time. We have state of the art equipment including 600mm and 800mm horizontals CNC’s, vertical CNC’s, lathes, robotic welding, parts washers and measuring equipment. You will contribute to this environment through:
  • Operating CNC equipment in a safe manner to produce quality parts that meet or exceed the customers requirement.
  • Supporting, communicating and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles into the work you do to ensure we are continuously learning and improving together
  • Utilizing your unique skillset to read and interpret the information around you (including: basic engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or sample parts) and applying critical thinking to identify and resolve challenges
  • Performing complex tight tolerance machining which requires our Machinists to engage in calculating dimensions and tolerances and measuring parts to ensure they are of the highest quality
  • Learning advanced skills to set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools such as turning, milling, boring, drilling and other operations
  • Paying close attention to detail to verify dimensions of machined parts for accuracy and conformance to Customer expectations using micrometres, verniers, callipers, height gauges or other specialized measuring instruments
  • Participating in a collaborative work environment to ensure your success and ours, communication is important to identify and report deviations from specifications and tolerances to your supervisor so that we can ensure you have the support you require to be successful
  • Communicating critical information to your supervisor and to your peers on oncoming shifts is also critical (including quality concerns, tooling issues, maintenance concerns and production requirements)
  • Utilizing bar coding to record production and ensure accurate information within our system so that you have what you need to do your job
  • A busy and constantly evolving production floor means that you may be called upon to utilize your skills to support other areas of the business as required.
