Job Description

Community Garden Leader– Full-Time Temporary - $22.98/ hrAre you between the ages of 19 to 30 years old, who has or is working towards a diploma/degree in Horticultural or Community Services that would like to gain experience in this field over the summerWe are looking for a Community Garden Leader to work 28 hours a week for 10 weeks in Guelph. As a Community Garden Leader, you will be working with the community to develop and maintain community gardens.Why work with us

Whats the job
  • Connect with the community regarding food insecurity, foodbanks, and family health teams
  • Plan and construct the installation of community gardens at three CLGW locations
  • Effectively promote and engage with the people supported in the development and maintenance of the community gardens
  • Recruit interested volunteers from the community of Guelph to help maintain the gardens
  • Encourage relationship building between community garden participants
  • Locate potential sources of funding for gardening materials and tools
What do you bring to the job
  • Post-secondary education in a Horticulture or Community Services or a related field
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
  • Must be between the ages of 19 to 30 years old as per Canada Summer Jobs requirements
