Job Description

Number of Positions: 1Language: Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.Work Model: Office-BasedAdditional Information: The Governance team provides strategic leadership on corporate and co-operative governance to the board of directors and senior management to uphold the integrity of our governance framework. Our knowledgeable team collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure roles are understood, respected and maintained in appropriate balance. We strive for best in class governance to enhance organizational performance to ensure the long-term success of The Co-operators. As the Co-ordinator, Board Support you will be responsible to provide specialized administrative support services for the governance department and Board of Directors’ programs.What you’re responsible for:

  • Scheduling meetings with stakeholders, overseeing the shared mailbox, participating in special projects and supporting the development of communication materials for events.
  • Managing technology and office supply budgets to ensure data is up to date and accurate, including generating reports and processing expenses.
  • Overseeing contract negotiations with vendors, managing the meeting calendar and ensuring selected meeting locations are in alignment with the budget requirements and sustainable meeting practices.
  • Providing database administration and developing and maintaining the board portal, including facilitating software upgrades and changes, uploading resources and ensuring appropriate training is in place for users.
  • Planning and facilitating the Annual General Meeting (AGM), including organizing bookings, logistics planning and other administrative support functions as required.

  • You have five years of experience working in a corporate environment, including experience planning events or in a related field.
  • You have a post-secondary education in Paralegal or a related discipline.
  • You have proficiency using technology and software relating to communication, presentation, web-based products, audiovisual and virtual meetings.
  • Having the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation is an asset.
