  • Implement & maintain environmental programs, policies, and procedures considering EHS legislation and corporate policy.
  • Perform environmental training for all levels of the division, including orientation to new employees
  • Coordinate required inspections & audits; champion internal environmental regulation review with the EHS Manager
  • Coordinate all annually required testing and monitoring such as our storm, sanitary waste generators and certificates of air.
HEALTH & SAFETY
  • Drive safety initiatives through an intern project. Learn to identify compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through participating in conducting daily, weekly, and monthly audits.
  • Perform review of the existing training presentations for Health, Safety and Environment, including orientation to new employees.
  • Coordinate required HSE inspections & audits, carry out workplace inspections and follow up for Action implementation.
  • Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion
  • Update the Physical Demands analysis and Hazard Assessments for the work carried out.
  • Assist in HSE administrative work including preparing various reports, charts and decks as required for the business.
  • Special projects as identified that will help to develop technical and business knowledge for field work organization
  • Submit progress reports and action plan updates on prescribed frequencies.
GENERAL
  • Comply to legislative requirements including but not limited to the section 28 of Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing that requires to be used or worn
  • Report hazards to your supervisor/manager that you are aware of
  • Will not operate any thing or work in a manner that may cause danger
  • Treat your fellow workers as you would like to be treated.
  • Awareness of all relevant requirements pertaining to your job function.
  • Follow guidelines, systems & rules as set out by company policies.
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Keep your workplace clean & tidy at all times.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.
Education Required:
  • Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study.
Experience Required:
  • Strong knowledge of applicable legislative requirements.
  • Excellent English language communication skills (both verbal & written) & interaction skills with both internal & external contacts.
  • Computer literate: Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Gensuite etc.
  • Excellent documentation, organizational & project management skills
