Position SummaryREPORTS TO: ControllerProvide assistance to the Controller in financial, administrative and reporting services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of monthly closing, budgeting and internal/ external reporting.Individual responsibilitiesFINANCE/ACCOUNTING
  • Perform assigned month-end closing tasks
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliation summary
  • Prepare monthly summary of journal entries
  • Prepare bank reconciliation
  • Maintain fixed assets schedule and prepaid expenses
  • Assist in analysis of financial statements
  • Assist in budget preparation
  • Update Longview reports
  • Prepare reports to Statistics Canada
  • Review AP payments
  • Back-up for AP tasks
  • Ensure compliance with SOX related to the position
  • Perform other tasks from time to time.

Experiences and strengthsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • CPA or currently in the program
  • 2-3 years of Full Cycle Accounting Experience
  • Proficient with spreadsheets (Pivot table, VLOOKUP)
  • Proficient with computerized environment and processing financial transactions
  • Good analytical skills and detail oriented
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
