Job Description

Position Location: Guelph, Ontario, CanadaDivision: Transportation# of Applicants: 1Schedule: PermanentShifts: DayInsert start and finish time for shift AM/PM: 9:00 AM5:00 PMDays: Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,FridayReporting to the Quality and Compliance Manager, the incumbent of the role will manage fleet capacity to balance with sales budgets by recruiting owner operators. Furthermore, the Fleet and Recruitment Specialist will to be available to operations staff and enable them to fill shipment opportunity that is presented by our customers. Opportunity presents itself in the way of transactional shipments and dedicated (contractual) work. This position is purposed to keep the fleet of owner operators at an optimal level with sales. Owner operators need to be recruited and timed such as to keep their incomes healthy enough to avoid turnover while have a pipeline ready for new sales opportunity. The turnover of the fleet should be managed by maintaining good relations which includes managing income.Roles, Tasks & Responsabilities

  • On the road recruiting of Owner-Operators (truck stops, rest stops, truck shows, etc.)
  • Off road recruiting of Owner-Operators (email/phone, advertising, blogging, etc)
  • Respond to inquiries
  • Monitor existing fleet utilization and manage optimization by reviewing individual activity and troubleshooting
  • Monitor Owner-Operator incomes and trouble-shoot imbalances/issues
  • Liaise with the fleet to check on them, answer the questions, solve issues
  • Help each Owner-Operator to be successful with PiVAL
  • Help to minimize turnover
  • Conduct on-boarding of new Owner-Operators including training and follow up
  • Assist with on-going training of Owner-Operators and follow up
  • On-site shadowing of new Dedicated Operators for start-ups
  • On-site quality review of Dedicated applications
  • Promote the company
  • Backup the Quality and Compliance Manager
  • Work closely with Operations team
  • Work closely with Sales team
  • Identify & facilitate process improvement to drive efficiency
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Role RequirementsExperience:
  • 2 years experience in an operations role within the trucking industry
Education:
  • HR (recruitment) degree or other relevant field (required)
Other:
  • Previous experience in sales or recruiting is an asset;
  • Previous experience with a TMS is an asset;
  • Previous driving expreience is an asset;
  • Working knowledge of FMCSA, MTO, CBSA, CBP, and DOT regulations;
Competencies & Skills:
  • Ability to execute good interpersonal relationships;
  • Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent MS Office software skills
