To support that challenge, the Corporate Affairs team is currently seeking a Government and Public Relations (GR/PR) Intern, this role can be based in Guelph, ON, Calgary, AB or remotely across Canada. As a GR/PR Intern, you will work alongside our team to advance the Syngenta brand, as well as the interests of growers and partners across Canada!Accountabilities

  • Provide support to the Corporate Affairs team, primarily in areas related to Syngenta Canada’s freedom to operate, through education, outreach, government, and industry relations.
  • In collaboration with our partners, monitor political developments and offer insights and analysis, as well as identify opportunities for outreach.
  • Assist in the planning, development, and delivery of communication related activities (including meeting briefings, letters, positions papers and media opportunities)
  • Improve stakeholder mapping and management including the setup of new or updating existing information.
  • Contribute to Internal Communications to support our employee stakeholders and their connectivity to government and industry relations activities.
  • Support the Government and Industry Relations Manager’s efforts to anticipate and communicate government policy, trends/initiatives/opportunities, and regulatory developments to senior leaders
Duration: May 2022 – August 2022Requirements
  • A positive attitude and excitement for learning
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or Public / Government Relations type program from an accredited university or college
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally and with external stakeholders
  • Excellent and proven written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable working in an office or remote environment
  • Ability to travel within Canada
  • Proof of full COVID Vaccination required
