Job Description

In order to be considered for this job you must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment contract;
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
Basic Responsibilities:
  • Welcome clients to the Shelldale clinic and complete covid screening as they enter the building
  • Update clients electronic medical record data as needed
  • Support clients with digital navigation as needed
  • Translate Guelph CHC communication materials into plain language
  • Creation of online learning modules for volunteer roles
  • Stock clinic supplies
  • Health promotion program support as needed
Required Qualifications:
  • Welcoming and engaging nature
  • Sensitivity to and comfortable with Guelph CHCs priority groups
  • Empathetic, compassionate and non-judgmental when working with vulnerable populations
  • Patient, positive, reliable, good judgment and a genuine interest in the well-being of others
  • Knowledge of and commitment to a high degree of confidentiality is essential
  • Ability to adhere to Guelph CHCs pandemic policies; re-Screen for covid daily before arriving, fully vaccinated, wear mask for duration of shift, understand importance of and ability to follow hand sanitation guidelines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Research and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use a variety of computer programs and office equipment
  • Strong technology skills, excellent digital problem-solving ability and skilled with various electronic platforms
  • Health administration or health promotion experience is an asset
